Sukma, 22 February (HS): Security forces have recovered a large amount of weapons and explosives dumped by Naxalites in the Gundarajgudem Chintavagu river forest area under Naveen Camp Metaguda.

In a press note issued today by Sukma Police, it has been told that on Thursday, information was received about the presence of Naxalites in village Gundarajgudem, Chinta Vagu river area forest area under Naveen Camp Metaguda area. On which, on the instructions of senior officers, a joint party of 203 Cobra Battalion, 131 Battalion CRPF and District Force left for Naxal patrol search in village Peenachanda, Gundarajgudem, Chinta Vagu river area forest area under Thana Chintagufa area.

During the operation, a large quantity of explosives and other Naxalite materials hidden by unknown Naxalites were recovered from the dense forest area located 1.4 km south east of village Gundrajgudem and on the banks of Chintavagu river. All the jawans are safe in the incident, after the operation all the parties have returned safely to the camp.

Security forces have recovered two indigenous weapons, a telescope, empty magazine pouch, empty pittu, 50 multiple medicine strips, five injections and 12 injection syringes, explosive powder, clothes used by Naxalites, safety fuse (bisite stripe-02 meter), Naxalite literature, diary, a switch mechanism, clip board, hand blower, bench wise part, bench wise part and many materials used by Naxalites.
