Pune, 22 February (HS): Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set 2 goals for the country. To take the Indian economy to 5 trillion dollars and to make the country developed by the year 2047. Shah said that both these goals will be achieved with the contribution of the cooperative sector.
Amit Shah, while addressing the closing ceremony of the Amrit Mahotsav of Janata Cooperative Bank in Pune on Saturday, said that Prime Minister Modi started the Union Ministry of Cooperation. Through this ministry, many things have been revolutionized in the country.
During his address, Shah lauded the efforts of the Union cooperative ministry, which operates with the motto 'Sahkar se Samriddhi'. He pointed out the ministry's transformative impact on the nation and called for embracing technology in this sector, reflecting the Janta Sahkari bank's operational philosophy.
He said that there are 1465 urban cooperative banks in the country and more than 400 in Maharashtra alone. We are activating a special organization. Which will help all the cooperative banks in every possible way. A budget of Rs 300 crore has also been approved for this. Recently, Cooperative Minister Shah chaired the first meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Cooperatives. In this, he said that a bill for the establishment of Tribhuvan Cooperative University will soon be passed in Parliament. Through this university, it will be ensured that the cooperative sector gets equal opportunities as the corporate sector.
