Dehradun, 20 February (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Harshil-Mukhwa visit is proposed on 27 February. Before the visit, the State Executive Committee of the State Government has released an amount of more than 27 crore 20 lakhs for security works in the world famous Dham Gangotri and Yamunotri. Apart from this, an amount of 4 crore 99 lakh 92 thousand has been approved for protection from landslides in the lower part of Varunavat mountain located at Uttarkashi headquarters. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has approved the amount.
Uttarkashi District Magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht said that out of the amount sanctioned for both the Dhams, Rs 19 crore 56 lakh 85 thousand has been approved for flood protection works on both sides of the Yamuna river from Yamunotri Dham temple and Shri Ram temple in Janakichatti to Akholi bridge. At the same time, Rs 40 crore 2 lakh 50 thousand proposed for protective work of the ashram, dharamshala buildings and temple complex located in Gangotri Dham and Rs 1 crore 43 lakh 61 thousand have been approved for protective work on the banks of Bhagirathi river. Protective works will be done near Acharya Kutir and Hans Cave at a cost of Rs 2 crore 16 lakh 84 thousand.
