New Delhi, February 12 (HS): The Metro management has now issued a clarification on the news of increase in the fare of Delhi Metro, the lifeline of the capital Delhi. Delhi Metro has called the news of fare hike a rumour.

In fact, in the last few days, many posts viral on social media have claimed that after the victory of BJP in the Delhi Assembly elections, the fare of Delhi Metro has been increased by 50 percent and the ticket which was earlier available for Rs 60, has now become Rs 90.

In such a situation, on Wednesday, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) issued a clarification on social media X and wrote, It has come to our notice through some social media posts that the fare of Delhi Metro has been revised. There is a fixed procedure for increasing the fare, the fare cannot be increased without the formation of a fair fixation committee. The fare is revised only by the independent fare fixation committee elected by the government.

Finally, DMRC wrote that at present no such proposal has come up regarding fare hike.
