6 Dec (HS): A horrific road accident took place near
Sadullapur village under Kothi police station area of Barabanki district of
Uttar Pradesh at around 11:30 pm on Friday night, in which an Ertiga car was
completely destroyed and one person died on the spot. After the accident, the
Banda-Bahraich road remained jammed for about two hours. According to the
information received, a high-speed Ertiga car and a tractor-trolley collided
head-on near Sadullapur village on the Barabanki-Bahraich road late on Friday
night. The collision was so severe that the Ertiga car was completely damaged
and turned into debris, and there was chaos at the spot. After the incident,
the villagers present nearby showed humanity and immediately informed the
police and started rescue work.
Upon receiving the information, police from Kothi police station immediately
arrived at the scene. With the help of police and villagers, the injured
trapped in the car were rescued and taken to the Community Health Center,
Kothi, for treatment. Doctors declared one of the injured, Shriram Sharma (50),
a resident of Gangapur, Sitapur, dead after examination.
The second injured person has been identified as Pankaj (44), a resident of
Biswa police station in Sitapur district. He is seriously injured. According to
the police, no official confirmation has yet been received regarding the other
injured.
Due
to the severity of the accident, traffic on the Banda-Bahraich main road was
completely disrupted for about two hours, causing a traffic jam several
kilometers long. With the tireless cooperation of the police and villagers, the
damaged car and tractor-trolley were removed from the road, after which traffic
was restored on the route late at night. Kothi police station in-charge Amit
Singh Bhadoria said that the matter is being investigated and the police is
trying to gather information about the injured.
