Bhubaneswar, 30 December (H.S.) : Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday conducted simultaneous searches at six locations in Keonjhar district in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Jitendra Kumar Jena, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Bancho Gram Panchayat under Hatadihi Block. The searches were carried out following allegations that the official had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The operation was undertaken on the basis of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar.

A Vigilance team comprising four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), eight Inspectors, and supporting staff conducted raids at his triple-storeyed residential building at Biranchipur in Mareigaon under Hatadihi, a newly constructed double-storeyed market complex at Jagannathpur Mouza in Basantia Bazar, two rented godowns of Maa Saraswati Sales at Basantia Bazar, his electronics shop “Saraswati Sales” at Bidyadharpur, his paternal house at Padhiaripalli village under Hatadihi Block, and his office premises at Bancho Gram Panchayat. Vigilance officials are currently verifying documents, cash, and other movable and immovable assets recovered during the searches. Further details are awaited as the investigation is in progress.
