29 Dec (HS): A child and a government school teacher perished in separate
traffic accidents in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district on Monday, police said. The
first accident happened late Sunday in the Sikandarpur region when Rajesh Kumar
Yadav (45) was riding his motorbike from Jalalipur Mod to the bus terminal in
Sikandarpur town. A speeding pickup truck crashed into his motorcycle from
behind, killing him on the spot, authorities said. Following the receipt of
information, a police squad arrived at the scene and transported the deceased
to the district hospital for postmortem assessment. The pickup truck involved
in the crash has been seized, police said. According to Sikandarpur Station
House Officer (SHO) Moolchand Chaurasia, a case has been filed against an
unnamed driver under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in response to a complaint
submitted by Rajesh's father-in-law, Chandrabali Yadav.
Yadav
worked as an assistant teacher at a primary school in Pandah block and resided
in a leased house near the Kalpa shrine in Sikandarpur town, according to a
police official. Suraj, a one-and-a-half-year-old kid, died after being ran over
by a pickup vehicle on the Dalchhapra-Shrinagar link road in the Rewati
district on Sunday evening. The boy was playing outside his house when an
unidentified car mowed him down. According to authorities, villagers carried
the injured youngster to Rewati's community health facility, where physicians
confirmed him dead. The corpse has been submitted for post-mortem, and a case
has been filed against the unnamed driver in response to a complaint lodged by
the child's father, Mangru Nat, according to Rewati SHO Rajesh Bahadur Singh. He
stated that further inquiry is underway.
