New Delhi, 28 December (H.S.): Senior Indian National Congress leaders gathered at the party's Indira Bhawan headquarters on Sunday to commemorate the 141st foundation day of the organisation, originally established on December 28, 1885, at Gokuldas Tejpal Sanskrit College in Bombay, extending greetings to workers and countrymen while saluting sacrifices and struggles that shaped the nation's freedom movement.

Prominent figures including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Ajay Makan, Lalji Desai, Digvijaya Singh, Salman Khurshid, and Jairam Ramesh convened for the occasion, underscoring the party's enduring commitment to public welfare.

Leaders' Tributes and Resolutions

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge posted on X that the party has consistently championed India's people's welfare, empowerment, and inclusive development, with its 140-year glorious history narrating an epic of truth, non-violence, sacrifice, struggle, and patriotism.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra conveyed congratulations and best wishes on X to all leaders, workers, and millions of supporters on the foundation day.Leader Sachin Pilot affirmed the party's resolve to safeguard constitutional values and strengthen democracy, while General Secretary KC Venugopal declared Congress stands firmly against forces of hatred and division.
