Bhubaneswar, 24 December (H.S.): Justice Bishwanath Rath, Chairman of the Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar Inspection Committee, on Wednesday announced that a crucial meeting concerning the inventory of the Ratna Bhandar (treasury) will be held on December 27.

Justice Rath stated that the major repair work of the Ratna Bhandar has been completed and all ornaments have been successfully shifted back from the temporary strong room to the treasury.

He said the upcoming meeting will focus on finalising a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the inventory and counting of the valuables. “We aim to complete the counting programme by January, and detailed guidelines will be prepared in the forthcoming meeting,” he added.

Appreciating the cooperation of Lord Jagannath’s devotees during the restoration process, Justice Rath noted that public support played a key role in the smooth execution of the work.

On the inventory process, he confirmed that the 1978 inventory list will be used as a reference and will be verified during the counting and tallying of ornaments inside the vault.

The committee is expected to finalise comprehensive procedures to ensure transparency, accuracy, and proper documentation of the sacred treasures of the shrine.
