Dhubri (Assam), 24 December (HS): One person was killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between two vehicles at Makrijhora in Parbatjhora on Wednesday. The accident occurred on National Highway 17, involving a goods-laden truck and a goods-carrying Magic vehicle.

According to sources, the impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the on-the-spot death of one person, identified as Giyas Uddin (50). Two others, Lalchand Sheikh and Rehan Mustafiq, were critically injured in the mishap.

The injured were immediately rushed to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition for advanced treatment.

Police said the Magic vehicle bore registration number AS-16-AC-6571, while the truck was registered as NL-01-K-6624. Personnel from Bagribari Police Station reached the accident site soon after the incident and initiated necessary legal and traffic management procedures.

Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.----------
