Kolkata, 20 December (H.S.): The railways have announced the cancellation of several trains in the Howrah and Sealdah divisions due to track maintenance work. According to a notification issued by the railways, this decision has been taken due to engineering, electrical, and signal and telecommunication maintenance work. Passengers are advised to check the train status before travelling.

In the Howrah division, several local trains will remain cancelled on various branches on December 21st. Trains numbered 37055, 37249, 37363, and 36823 originating from Howrah have been cancelled. Similarly, trains numbered 37246 and 37749 from Bandel, 36834 from Bardhaman, 37056 from Sheoraphuli, 37364 and 37396 from Arambagh, and 37748 from Katwa will also not run on this day.

In addition, the 53009 Katwa–Azimganj Passenger train will now depart at 12:30 PM instead of 12:00 PM. The 37356 Howrah–Arambagh Local train will be partially operated and will only run up to Tarakeswar.

In the Sealdah division, there will be a traffic block on the Up line between Muragacha and Bethuadahari stations on December 20th and 21st. Additionally, traffic will be suspended for four hours each on the Up and Down lines at Muragacha station on December 21st and 22nd, and during the midnight of December 22nd/23rd.

Due to this traffic block, the Sealdah–Lalgola Passenger train will run one hour late on December 20th, 21st, and 22nd. This train will also be partially operated and will only run up to Krishnapur. The railways have appealed to passengers to check the information in advance to avoid inconvenience.
