New Delhi, 17 December (H.S.): Congress parliamentarians mounted a vehement demonstration within the Parliament House complex on Wednesday, vehemently condemning the Central government's purported weaponization of the Enforcement Directorate against opposition stalwarts.

The protest erupted in the aftermath of a Delhi court's refusal to entertain the ED's money laundering prosecution complaint against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the protracted National Herald saga, a ruling that Special Judge Vishal Gogne grounded in procedural infirmities stemming from its reliance on a private complaint rather than a formal FIR.

Brandishing a conspicuous banner proclaiming 'Satyamev Jayate, Truth Prevails,' the lawmakers assembled at the Makar Dwar steps, their voices resounding with anti-government slogans and an uncompromising demand for contrition from the Narendra Modi administration.

Prominent figures spearheading the sit-in included Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal, AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik, and MPs such as Shashi Tharoor, Tariq Anwar, Kumari Selja, K. Suresh, and Manickam Tagore, embodying the party's resolve to combat perceived vendetta politics.

Party president Mallikarjun Kharge amplified the offensive earlier, insisting upon the resignations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah while vowing relentless parliamentary and extraparliamentary skirmishes to unmask agency malfeasance.
