
Mumbai, 17 Dec (HS): The Anti-Corruption Bureau
officials booked two officers of Navi Mumbai’s Land Records Office while
accepting a bribe of Rs 6 lakhs from the complainant, who is a land developer. Those
arrested have been named as Dilip Tulsiram Bagule (55) while accepting a bribe
of Rs 6 lakh. An offence against Kalimuddin Riyazuddin (27) has also been
registered for demanding the bribe.
The complainant was working as lend developer since
last three years. He had purchased a piece of land near Navi Mumbai’s International
Airport and had applied for measuring and marking of the plot. An employee of
the department R Sheikh had measured on December 5 and told him to contact Bagule,
who demanded Rs 9 lakh for issuing the measurement certificate. The deal was settled
for Rs 6 lakh. Meanwhile the complainant lodged a complaint with the ACB. Based
on the complaint the ACB arrested Bagul while accepting the bribe on December
16. An offence has been registered and further investigation initiated.
