New Delhi, 6 November (H.S.): Global markets are showing strong positive signals on Thursday, following a bullish session in the United States and continued buying in Europe. Asian markets have also opened with widespread gains, reflecting the optimistic sentiment.

The U.S. markets exhibited considerable enthusiasm in the previous session, allowing Wall Street's main indices to close on a strong note. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 225 points to finish at 47,311. The S&P 500 index gained 0.37 percent, ending its session at 6,796.29. Similarly, the Nasdaq Composite jumped 150.10 points, or 0.64 percent, to close at 23,498.74.

Today, Dow Jones Futures are trading with a slight gain of 0.03 percent at 47,324.53.European markets also maintained an upward trend in the last session. The FTSE index climbed 0.64 percent to close at 9,777.08, while the CAC index saw a modest gain of 0.08 percent to end at 8,074.23. The DAX index advanced by 100.63 points, or 0.42 percent, closing at 24,049.74.

A buoyant buying atmosphere prevails across Asian markets today, with all nine major indices trading firmly in the green.The Gift Nifty is trading up 0.34 percent at 25,741 points.Hong Kong's Hang Seng index has made a significant leap, currently up 1.73 percent (449.59 points) at 26,385.

Japan's Nikkei index has surged 1.41 percent (707.73 points) to 50,920.The Straits Times index is up 1.29 percent at 4,474.15.South Korea's KOSPI index has risen 1.20 percent to 4,052.50.The Taiwan Weighted index jumped 1.02 percent (284.08 points) to 28,001.14.The Shanghai Composite index is trading 0.88 percent higher at 4,004.25.Thailand's SET Composite index is up 0.78 percent at 1,305.38.The Jakarta Composite index shows a modest gain of 0.10 percent, trading at 8,327.25.
