
Howrah, 2 November (H.S.): A woman died and her husband and daughter were seriously injured in a road accident at the Panpur turn on Mumbai Road in Uluberia in Howrah district, on Sunday morning. As per information, a speeding dumper truck hit their bike.
According to police sources, the deceased woman has been identified as Seema Dutt (38), a resident of Sankrail in Jhargram and currently lives in the Liluah area of Howrah. On Sunday morning, she was travelling to Jhargram on a bike with her husband, Madhav Dutt, and daughter. On the way, a speeding dumper truck lost control and hit their bike near Panpur More in Uluberia.
The impact was so severe that all three were thrown onto the road. The wheel of the dumper passed over Seema Dutt's head, killing her on the spot. Her husband and daughter were seriously injured.
On information, traffic police arrived at the scene sent the injured to Uluberia Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Medical College Hospital, where both are undergoing treatment. The police have sent the dead body for post-mortem.
The fatal dumper has been seized, although its driver is absconding. The accident caused heavy traffic jams and chaos in the area for some time, which was later brought under control by the police.
