Cachar (Assam), 02 November (HS): In a major crackdown on fraudulent medical practices, Cachar Police arrested two fake doctors in separate operations conducted over the last two days under “Operation Fake Doctor.”

On November 1, acting on reliable information, police from Dwarbond PS apprehended Supal Roy (42), a resident of Chotojalenga Part-II, while he was illegally practicing medicine at his pharmacy located at Rosekandy TE under Dwarbond PS. A doctor’s chamber was also found inside the pharmacy. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him.

On November 2, based on another tip-off, Cachar Police arrested Indrajit Roy (39), a resident of Tatpara, PS–Samuktala, District Jalpaiguri (West Bengal). He was attending to patients as a visiting doctor at MAA AYURVED, E&D Colony, Tarapur, Silchar. Verification revealed that his medical credentials were fake and further legal action has been initiated.--------
