The first extended executive meeting of the Assam State OBC Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held on Sunday at the party’s state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, Basistha, under the chairmanship of State President Subhash Dutta.
The meeting was attended by all Morcha office bearers, state treasurer, co-conveners, as well as district presidents and general secretaries. Before the commencement of the meeting, members paid floral tributes and observed a moment of silence in memory of the late singer Zubeen Garg.
Delivering the welcome address, OBC Morcha State President Subhash Dutta felicitated the district presidents with traditional Phulam Gamusa.
Attending the meeting as chief guest, BJP State Vice President and Chairman of the Industrial Development Corporation Tapan Kumar Gogoi highlighted the importance of promoting Swadeshi (indigenous products) in every household during his keynote address.--------
