Lucknow,

16 Nov (HS): On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath will unveil a statue of Veerangna Uda Devi Pasi at a significant

ceremony in Uttar Pradesh. This event

honours Pasi's valiant heroism and sacrifice during the First War of Indian

Independence in 1857. Veerangna Uda Devi

Pasi, who was born at a time of struggle, remains a symbol of resistance,

having bravely fought against British forces, killing 36 soldiers before being

martyred. According to officials, Pasi's

legacy is a striking reminder of the strength that comes from togetherness and

sacrifice.

A

Swabhiman Samaroh will also be held at the occasion, which begins at 10 a.m. in

Pasi Square, Vrindavan Colony. Keshav

Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Ministers, will be among the

high-profile participants, as will a number of public figures.

UP

CM’s post on X, reads as follows: “A humble tribute to Uda Devi, an immortal heroine

of the freedom struggle, a symbol of indomitable courage and valour, on her

martyrdom day! Her heroic, sacrificial life for the nation's freedom will

continue to inspire patriotism and devotion to the motherland for ages.”
