Guwahati, 29 October (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that there was a time when unpredictable policies and security challenges discouraged investors from coming to the state, but today Assam has transformed into one of India’s key growth hubs.
Dr. Sarma announced that the state government is investing over ₹2,000 crore to expand Assam Petrochemicals Limited’s (APL) methanol and formalin production capacities to cater to both domestic and global markets.
He emphasized that the new investments will boost industrial growth, generate employment opportunities and further strengthen Assam’s position as an emerging industrial destination in the Northeast.
