
Guwahati, 28 October (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of ‘Usha Arghya’, the concluding day of the Chhath Mahaparv. He said the festival signifies new hope, energy and prosperity.
In his message, the Chief Minister said that devotees have reached the ghats before sunrise to offer arghya to the rising Sun, marking the end of their rigorous fasting and prayers. He wished that Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya bless everyone with happiness, peace and prosperity.
Dr. Sarma said that Chhath Puja is a unique festival of Indian culture and devotion, symbolizing purity, discipline, and respect for nature. He urged devotees to maintain cleanliness and spread harmony during the celebrations.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the divine spirit of Chhath Puja will continue to strengthen harmony and peace across Assam.--------
