Morigaon (Assam), 28 October (HS): Three persons, including a doctor, were killed on the spot in a horrific road accident at Jagiroad in Assam’s Morigaon district early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred around 3 am near Silchang along National Highway 27 when a speeding Creta car (AS-01EW-6546) lost control and rammed into the divider. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled, resulting in the instant death of three occupants and leaving two others critically injured.

The deceased have been identified as Dr. Kanteswar Bordoloi, Manas Mahanta and Asik Hussain. The injured were immediately rushed to Nagon Civil Hospital for treatment.

Police reached the spot soon after the incident, recovered the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination. Dr. Bordoloi was serving at Morigaon Civil Hospital. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.----------
