
Hyderabad 28 October (H.S.): Senior Maoist leader Bandi Prakash, a member of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), surrendered before the Telangana police on Tuesday.
Prakash, who served as a member of the CPI (Maoist) state committee, hails from Mancherial district and had been underground since 1987. He carried a cash reward of ₹20 lakh on his head.
Earlier this month, on October 10, three other senior Maoist leaders — Kunkati Venkataiah alias Vikas (underground for 36 years), Mogilicherla Venkatraju alias Raju (35 years), and Thodem Ganga alias Sony (21 years) — had also surrendered to the Telangana police, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
