Oct (HS): In a shootout in Bhogi Majra village, under the jurisdiction of the
Jhinjhana police station, police killed Faisal, a criminal with a reward of Rs.
one lakh. Constable Deepak was injured in the encounter after being shot in the
leg. Faisal faces 17 charges, including murder and robbery. Late Thursday
evening, near Bhogi Majra village, on the Machroli road from Bhogi Majra,
Jhinjhana police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) engaged in an encounter
with Faisal, a resident of Meerut, currently residing in Khadar Wala, Khalapar
police station, Muzaffarnagar, carrying a reward of one lakh rupees. Faisal was
injured by police gunfire and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared
dead. One of his accomplices fled. Police recovered a motorcycle and two
pistols. During the encounter, Kotwali in-charge Virendra Kasana and Special
Operations Group (SOG) in-charge Kuldeep Singh had a close shave, while SOG
constable Deepak was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

said the criminal was a shooter for the Sanjeev gang. He was wanted in two
robbery cases in the district. A reward of Rs. one lakh had been announced on
him. On Thursday evening, Faisal and his accomplice had robbed a bike, Rs. 3000,
and a mobile phone from Jeetram and his wife, residents of Barnavi village.
Faisal's accomplice, Shahrukh Pathan, was killed in an STF encounter a month
and a half ago.
