Noida, 24 Oct

(HS): A 20-year-old Noida youth died on Friday while being treated at a Delhi

hospital, days after being attacked during a birthday celebration outside his

home in Greater Noida's Rabupura district, police said. Two males have been

detained in connection with the incident that took place in Mohalla Ambedkar on

the night of October 15. According to authorities, Aniket and his uncle, Sumit,

were celebrating their birthdays at Syed Pokhar when a bunch of youths

reportedly assaulted them with sticks, gravely injuring them both. They were first treated to a neighboring

hospital but were subsequently transferred to Delhi due to their serious

condition. Aniket died from his injuries on Friday, prompting demonstrations by

locals who stopped the road, demanding stern punishment against the culprits,

according to police.

Dhirendra

Singh, a BJP politician and Jewar MLA, attended the scene and met with the

victim's relatives. In a post on X, he stated that the perpetrators in the

Rabupura Aniket case will face severe consequences. “My heartfelt sympathies to the victim's

family. I've also set up a phone meeting

with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to guarantee justice,” he remarked on X

post. An FIR was filed on October 17 in response to

a complaint filed by the deceased's relatives, according to Station House

Officer (SHO) Sujeet Upadhyay of Rabupura. Two accused, Yuvraj and Jitu, have

been apprehended, and attempts are on to locate the remaining suspects, he

added. While the actual motive for the attack

remained unknown, a police officer stated that locals believe a social media

post may have triggered the incident.
