Kolkata, 22 October (H.S.): West Bengal BJP President Shamik Bhattacharya made serious allegations about the situation in West Bengal, saying, There is a conspiracy afoot to turn West Bengal into West Bangladesh. If Hindus don't wake up now, a great danger will emerge in the coming days.

On Wednesday, he wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Don't mistake the video below for Bangladesh—this is the current situation in West Bengal. On Monday night, Jihadis beheaded the idol of Goddess Kali and took it away from the pandal in Uttar Chandanpur village of Suryanagar Gram Panchayat in the Kakdwip Assembly constituency. The state administration, as usual, is busy suppressing the incident.

Bhattacharya further wrote, The police initially tried to intimidate the villagers and closed the temple door, but after a massive protest, the police were forced to open the temple and allow people inside to take photographs. No one has been arrested in this incident so far.

Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he said, Hindus in the state are now facing the consequences of Mamata Banerjee's appeasement politics. Under her misrule, no one has been punished for incidents such as the vandalism of idols of deities, the destruction of prayer halls, and the looting or burning of Hindu homes by extremists from a particular community. This is why such Jihadi activities are constantly increasing.

Bhattacharya appealed to the state's Hindus to unite, saying, If Hindus do not wake up and organize now, a major crisis could arise in the coming days.

The state administration has yet to officially respond to this allegation.
