Delhi, 22 October (H.S.): The second edition of the Indian Navy's biannual Commanders' Conference commenced in New Delhi on Wednesday, marking a crucial forum to deliberate on the nation's maritime security and operational preparedness. The three-day conference, running until October 24, is set against the backdrop of the recent 'Operation Sindoor' and will focus on enhancing combat capabilities and interoperability with the Indian Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

According to Navy Captain Vivek Madhwal, the conference will feature addresses from the Defence Minister and the Cabinet Secretary, whose remarks are expected to align with broader national interests and the 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision.

The event provides a platform for the naval leadership to interact with national leaders and strategists, reinforcing the Navy's approach to tackling the multifaceted challenges of the current geo-strategic environment. The Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Air Staff will also address the conference, participating in discussions aimed at optimizing resources and enhancing synergy in joint planning and operations.

Led by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, the commanders will review and evaluate plans concerning the overall security situation in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Key agenda items include discussions on naval operations, training, and resource allocation. The top naval brass will also deliberate on the force's future roadmap, focusing on key enablers like improved operational logistics and digitalization.

A significant part of the discussion will be dedicated to harnessing disruptive technologies such as AI, Big Data, and Machine Learning to develop advanced combat solutions.The conference will also serve to advance the 'Make in India' initiative by promoting indigenous manufacturing and innovation within the naval framework.

Furthermore, it will reinforce the Indian government's SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision and explore strategies to bolster the Indian Navy's role as the preferred security partner in the IOR and the wider Indo-Pacific.
