Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his appreciation by saying that the unconstitutional and immoral police brutality, which was a stumbling block to the dignity, development and progress of the state, has been curbed in the and the credit for this should go to the police department.

Speaking at the Police Commemoration Day celebrations in Bengaluru, he paid tributes to the martyred police officers and personnel. The development of the state will be possible if the police department maintains peace and order. Thus It is a good thing that unethical police brutality has been curbed. Similarly, the drug menace has also been curbed, which needs to be managed more effectively. He said that the credit for this achievement should go to the police department.

He said that DCRE police stations have been made operational to prevent atrocities against Scheduled Castes in the state. They need to work effectively to protect constitutional rights and values.

In one year, 191 people in the country, including 8 people from the state, have laid down their lives in the line of duty and become martyrs. Their sacrifice and selflessness cannot be put to any price. It is everyone's duty to remember and pay tribute to them, he said.

He said that the police personnel are at the forefront in maintaining peace and order in the country. Your role is huge in suppressing communal forces and evil forces.

Siddaramaiah said that the police department is also responsible for protecting the rights given to the people in the Constitution.
