Buddha Nagar, 21 Oct (HS): A man living in village Nagla Nainsukh of Dadri

police station area was shot dead by his friend during a dispute while drinking

alcohol on the night of Diwali. Police arrested him on Tuesday morning. Police

were going to recover the illegal weapon used in the murder from him, when he

snatched the inspector's pistol and started running while firing at the police.

In retaliation, the police also fired. The bullet fired by the police hit his

leg.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone III, Sudhir Kumar, said that Sachin, son of

Karamveer, and his friend Rajesh, residents of village Nagla Nainsukh in the

Dadri police station area, were drinking together on Diwali night. Around 8

p.m., they had an argument over something. In a fit of rage, Sachin shot

Rajesh, who died on the spot. He said that upon receiving information about the

incident, police arrived at the scene, took the deceased's body into custody,

and sent it for post-mortem.

He

said that the police were investigating the case after registering a report of

the incident. Early this morning, the police arrested the accused, Sachin. When

questioned, he told them that he had hidden the weapon used in the murder. He

said that the police were going to recover the weapon used in the murder when

the accused snatched a sub-inspector's pistol and started running. When the

police chased him, he fired at the police with the intention of killing them.

He said that in retaliation, the police fired a shot. The bullet fired by the

police hit his leg. He said that the injured person has been admitted to the

hospital for treatment. The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the

inspector's stolen pistol has been recovered from him. During interrogation,

the police found out that three cases have been registered against him in the

past.
