Guwahati, 18 October (HS): In a major administrative reshuffle, the Assam Government has transferred and posted as many as 36 senior police officers, including Superintendents of Police (SPs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), across various districts and units.
As per the order, Partha Pratim Das, SSP of Sivasagar, has been transferred to Cachar as SSP. Leena Doley has been reappointed as SSP of Sivasagar, replacing Das. Doley was earlier transferred from Dhubri on disciplinary grounds. Debashish Bora will now serve as SSP of Dhubri.
Nomal Mahatta, SSP of Cachar, has been transferred to Kokrajhar, replacing Pushparaj Singh, who moves to Sivasagar as SSP. Shubhrajyoti Bora, the outgoing SSP of Sivasagar, has been appointed as SSP of Jorhat, while Shwetank Mishra, SSP of Jorhat, has been moved to 4th APBn.
Mayank Kumar, SSP of Dima Hasao, has been shifted to Tinsukia, while Ripunjay Kakoti, AIG (Headquarters), takes charge as the new SSP of Dima Hasao.
In another set of changes, Subhasish Barua, SSP of Biswanath, has been appointed as the new SSP of Sivasagar, while A. Basumotary, SSP of Bajali, will now take charge as SSP of Biswanath.
Among the DCP-level officers in Guwahati, Amitabh Basumotary, DCP (Central), has been shifted as DCP (West), and Sambhavi Mishra, ADCP (Central), takes over as DCP (Central). Padmanava Baruah, the present DCP (West), has been transferred as Senior Superintendent of Police (Vigilance and Anti-Corruption).
In the hill districts, Pushparaj Singh has been transferred to Karbi Anglong as SSP, replacing Sanjib Kumar Saikia, who moves to Kamrup.
The large-scale reshuffle is aimed at strengthening policing and ensuring effective law and order administration across the state.------
