Varanasi/ Ghaziabad, 18 Oct (HS): Police action against criminals continues in Uttar
Pradesh. Police have achieved major success in separate encounters in Shamli,
Varanasi, and Ghaziabad. As part of the ongoing campaign against criminals, a
criminal carrying a reward of Rs. 100,000 was killed, while two chain snatchers
and an extortionist were apprehended after a police encounter. These late-night
actions have created a stir within the criminal world. Police say that the
campaign against criminals will continue and no one will be spared.
Nafeesh,
carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, killed in Shamli: In the forests of Bhabhisa
village, under the Kandhla police station area of Shamli district, a joint
police and Special Operations Group (SOG) team killed Nafeesh, son of Poda, a
criminal carrying a reward of one lakh rupees, in an encounter. Nafeesh had
dozens of cases registered against him, including robbery, murder, and dacoity,
and had been absconding for a long time.
Two
chain snatchers injured and arrested in Varanasi: Meanwhile, two chain
snatchers were injured in a police encounter during a checkpoint on Bhadwar
Road in the Rohaniya police station area of Varanasi. Police shot both of
them in the legs. Both accused had been carrying out chain snatching incidents
in the city.
Criminal
demanding extortion arrested in Ghaziabad: Meanwhile, in the Tilamoda police
station area of Ghaziabad, police arrested a criminal named Kailash after an
encounter. The accused was recently absconding after extorting money from a
mining businessman. Illegal weapons, mobile phones, and a stolen motorcycle
were recovered from him.
Third
major encounter in Azamgarh: Meanwhile, in the Bardah police station area of
Azamgarh, police captured Anand Yadav, a notorious criminal who was
absconding in a robbery case, in an encounter, injuring him. He has been sent
to the hospital for treatment. According to the police, the accused faces several
serious criminal charges. This encounter is the third major action in 24 hours
under the Op Langda Campaign.
