Nagpur, 18 Oct (HS): The Nagpur Division of the

Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has added 40 buses on the

Nagpur-Pune route. The special service appears to be for earning additional

revenue by making available tickets at a little lower compared to the private

bus operators.

While private operators are charging Rs 24,000 to Rs

25,000, the MSRTC’s fare is between Rs 21,600 and Rs 22,000. Of the special

buses seven are Shivai buses, while others are standard 4-seater vehicles.

MSRTC also plans to operate additional buses during

the Diwali school holidays to popular tourist places in the region, including

Mahurgad, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Rajura etc, from October 19 to 30.
