Lucknow,
18 Oct (HS): Defence
Minister Rajnath Singh and UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday flagged off the
first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured at the Lucknow-based BrahMos
Aerospace unit. This day will not only prove to be a milestone for the Uttar
Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) but will also give new impetus to
India's resolve to become self-reliant in defence products. BrahMos Aerospace,
the manufacturer of the world's fastest and deadliest precision strike BrahMos
supersonic missile system, has produced the first batch of missiles from its
new Integration and Test Facility in Lucknow. This state-of-the-art unit became
fully operational after its inauguration on May 11.
Meanwhile,
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, Today is an important day for the
people of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow plays a vital role in the defense sector. I
inaugurated the BrahMos unit five months ago. Today, its first consignment was
dispatched. This is not a common occurrence. Operation Sindoor has proven that
victory is now our forte. The world has acknowledged India's strength. The
country is confident that we have become very strong. Let me tell you, when
India can give birth to Pakistan, you people are wise enough to think ahead. Every
part of its territory is now on our radar.
Defence

event, the Defense Minister and Chief Minister witnessed the booster docking
process. A presentation of the BrahMos simulator equipment will also be held. A
tree planting ceremony will also take place. During the event, Director General
(BrahMos) Dr. Jaytirth R. Joshi presented a cheque and GST bill to Chief

The production of BrahMos missiles will create employment opportunities for
highly skilled youth in Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow BrahMos unit is the first
facility in the Uttar Pradesh Defense Corridor where the entire process, from
missile system manufacturing to final testing, is carried out indigenously.
This project is not only strategically important but also creates new
opportunities for employment, investment, and technological innovation in the
state.
