New Delhi, 9 January (H.S.): The domestic stock market is seen trading under pressure amid fluctuations during early trade today. Today's trade had a mixed start at a flat level. As soon as the market opened, due to increased selling pressure, both the stock market indices fell sharply in the first 15 minutes of trading. However, after half an hour of trading, buying started in the market, due to which some improvement was seen in the market situation. After the first 1 hour of trading, Sensex was trading with a weakness of 0.20 percent and Nifty with a weakness of 0.21 percent.
After the first 1 hour of trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, the shares of Hindalco Industries, Kotak Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Infosys and Mahindra & Mahindra were trading with strength ranging from 0.78 percent to 0.32 percent. On the other hand, shares of Apollo Hospital, Trent Limited, Larsen & Toubro, UltraTech Cement and Grasim Industries were seen trading with a decline of 1.98 percent to 1.34 percent.
So far, active trading was taking place in 2,327 shares in the stock market. Out of these, 1,121 shares were trading in the green mark by making profits, while 1,206 shares were trading in the red mark by suffering losses. Similarly, out of the 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 9 stocks remained in the green mark with the support of buying. On the other hand, 21 stocks were trading in the red mark due to selling pressure. While out of the 50 stocks included in the Nifty, 11 stocks were seen trading in the green mark and 39 stocks in the red mark.
The BSE Sensex opened today with a gain of 57.72 points at 78,206.21 points. As soon as the trading started, due to the pressure of selling, this index slipped into the red mark. Due to the continuous selling, the Sensex fell to 77,846.43 points in the first 15 minutes of trading. However, after this, due to the start of buying, there was a slight improvement in the condition of this index. After the first 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, the Sensex was trading at a level of 77,991.19 points with a weakness of 157.30 points.
In contrast to the Sensex, NSE's Nifty started trading today at a level of 23,674.75 points, falling 14.20 points. As soon as the market opened, due to the pressure of selling, this index fell to 23,593.95 points in the first 15 minutes of trading. However, after this, due to the support of buying, there was a slight improvement in the condition of this index. After the initial 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, Nifty was trading at 23,638.15 points with a decline of 50.80 points.
Earlier on the last trading day on Wednesday, the Sensex closed at 78,148.49 points with a weakness of 50.62 points i.e. 0.06 percent. At the same time, Nifty ended Wednesday's trading at 23,688.95 points with a decline of 18.95 points i.e. 0.08 percent.
