Hojai (Assam), 09 January (HS): Lumding Railway Police has intensified the drive against narcotics. Based on secret information, a search operation was conducted in the Kolkata Garib Rath Express train.

In the operation, Taizul Islam, a resident of Barmura, Tripura was arrested with 11 kg of ganja from the AC coach. Police said that the accused was carrying ganja from Tripura to Kolkata.

Information about smuggling of drugs from Agartala to other states through rail route has come to light during interrogation of the accused.
