Bhubaneswar, 31 January (H.S.): On Friday, the Odisha Vigilance Department arrested Biswadarsi Sahoo, the Project Administrator of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), on charges of amassing assets beyond his known sources of income.
During a search operation on Thursday, authorities discovered disproportionate assets in Sahoo's possession, including a multi-storey building, two flats in Bhubaneswar (with Rs. 1.50 crore paid in advance for one flat), nine high-value plots, 150 grams of gold, cash amounting to Rs. 4.51 lakh, and bank deposits exceeding Rs. 61 lakh.
As Sahoo could not provide a satisfactory explanation for the assets, he was arrested. The Rourkela wing of the Vigilance Department has filed a case, and he will be produced in court today
