Jaipur, 3 January (H.S.): The tiger, which had attacked five people in three days, was tranquilized on Friday.

Tiger ST-2402 which came out of Sariska Tiger Reserve was sitting in the kitchen of the farm house owned by one Omprakash Meena, located on Chilkibas Road in Raini of Alwar district. An employee,Manoj, was sleeping in the room next to the kitchen with the door open and came to know when the tiger roared. The forest workers were informed about the tiger.

A team reached the spot at 5 am on Friday and after about three hours the tiger was tranquilized. The tiger had entered Mahukhurd village of Dausa district from Sariska on January 1. It first attacked three people and the vehicle of two forest workers who were trying to tranquilize it. The forest workers narrowly escaped in this attack.

On Thursday too, efforts were made to tranquillise it throughout the day, but it kept teasing the forest workers in the fields.

Ranger Krishna Kumar said that the tiger has been tranquillised. After tranquillising it, ten people put the tiger in a car and took it to Sariska.

Dr. Deendayal, who tranquillised the tiger, said, We had received information at 2 am that there was a tiger in a house. We could not tranquillise it at night.

Deendayal said that the teams reached the spot in the morning. The tiger had attacked earlier, so we had to go to it in a closed car. The closed car was parked about 25 feet away from the kitchen. The kitchen gate was open, due to which tranquillization was successful in the first shot itself. Since the tiger was aggressive, there was a fear of it turning around and attacking.

After the shot, when its movement stopped, a net was thrown on it. The four-year-old tiger was so big and heavy that ten people put it in the car. The weight of the tiger is 200 kg.

DFO Abhimanyu Sahran, who brought the tiger to Sariska, said that two teams from Sariska and Ranthambore played a major role in tranquillizing it. It will be kept under observation for some time. After that it will be decided when to release it back into the forest.
