Bhubaneswar, 22 January (H.S.): To assist farmers and economically backward sections of society through cooperative mechanisms, the state government has established Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and Large Area Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS). Among these, 1542 new PACS and LAMPS have been formed.
To empower these newly formed organizations, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has decided to provide them with operational support.
As per the Chief Minister's decision, each newly formed PACS or LAMPS will receive ₹5 lakh as seed money to become operational. This proposal has been approved by the Chief Minister.
Through this initiative, ₹76.80 crore will be disbursed as seed money to the 1542 newly formed PACS and LAMPS.
This move is expected to strengthen the cooperative sector in the state and benefit farmers significantly, the Chief Minister expressed with optimism.
