Manchester, Jan 2 (H.S.): Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford

has slammed reports of a move away from Old Trafford, calling them ridiculous.

Rashford has been a key player in the Red side of Manchester, often being a regular starter under various managers before the arrival of Ruben Amorim. However, since the managerial change and the change in United's playing style, Rashford has struggled to find a place in the starting XI.

Last month, in an interview, Rashford said he was ready for a new challenge, leading to speculation about a potential move. On Tuesday, when the January transfer window opened, Rashford took to Instagram to dismiss the rumors, saying, There have been a lot of false stories written over the last few weeks but guys, this is getting ridiculous - I have never met with any agency and I have no plans to. Rashford's status within the team changed when Amorim made the surprising decision to leave him out of the squad ahead of the Manchester derby win on December 15. More recently, Amorim revealed that Rashford is eager to play, but he has decided to keep him on the sidelines for now. Yes, it's my decision. He wants to play, he's trying, but it's my decision, only my decision. I spoke to a lot of players, individually and during training. I'm doing it my way, and it's the only way I know. If I don't do it, I lose myself, and I don't want to lose myself. I know what I'm doing, Amorim was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

Despite Rashford being dropped, Amorim assured that the rest of the squad will remain unaffected by the decision.

Like any other player, they can be the best they can be. If you have big talent, big performances, big responsibility, then push everyone at the moment. Some people have a bigger responsibility here because they have been here for a long time, he said.
