Delhi, 16 January (H.S.): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a telephonic conversation with UK Defence Minister John Healy on Thursday. The two ministers briefly discussed ongoing defence cooperation issues and stressed the need to maintain momentum in bilateral relations.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and John Healy reviewed the excellent progress made between the two countries in specific defence technology areas such as electric propulsion and jet engines. They expressed satisfaction over the recent signing of a letter of intent on electric propulsion.

The two ministers also reviewed the ongoing programme on exchange of military instructors at each other's training institutes. With the UK's increasing focus on the Indo-Pacific, the two sides will explore possibilities of joint work and enhanced maritime partnership in 2025.
