Bhubaneswar, 15 January (H.S.): In response to a dense fog warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for five districts in Odisha, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has released an advisory focused on public safety.
According to the IMD bulletin, dense fog is expected to affect the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal tomorrow.
To prevent road accidents under these foggy conditions, the SRC has instructed police and transport officials in the affected districts to implement precautionary measures. These measures include regulating vehicle movement on National Highways and controlling traffic during periods of dense fog.
The administration’s proactive approach aims to reduce the likelihood of accidents and protect commuters.
Residents and travellers are urged to remain vigilant, exercise caution while on the road, and follow the directives issued by local authorities to ensure their safety during fog.
