- Bashistha Bujarbarua calls for preservation of tribal tradition and Karbi Guru-Kul system
Karbi Anglong (Assam), 10 January (HS): Shishu Shiksha Samiti has established four new Vidya Niketans in Umrangsu area of West Karbi Anglong district. These were inaugurated in the presence of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Assam region area Kshetra Pracharak Bashistha Bujarbarua.
In his address at the inauguration ceremony, Bashistha Bujarbarua stressed the importance of education and underlined its role in the development of society. He called for special attention to be paid to the preservation of tribal tradition and Karbi Guru-Kul system. Bujharbarua said that tribal languages cannot be allowed to disappear, as these languages play an important role in preserving the identity and cultural heritage of the community.
He suggested that collective efforts are needed to include these languages in the education curriculum and to promote them. Bujarbarua stressed on integration of modern education and traditional knowledge systems as essential for overall development of society and empowerment of tribal communities.
