Washington, 09 Sep (HS): Vice-president Kamala
Harris recalled her days spent in India with her grandparents. Harris also
shared a photograph on her X handle on Sunday. The occasion was Grandparents
Day celebrated across the world. Harris is a potential candidate for the
presidential elections.
“I used to visit India when I was young. My
grandparents used to take me for a morning walk. They motivated me to fight against
inequality and corruption. My grandfather was a retired civil servant
and a freedom fighter”, she wrote.
Kamala posted that her grandmother travelled
throughout the country to generate awareness about birth control measures. Their
teachings and determination for a better future and public service still
inspire her, she said. Harris extended best wishes on the National Grandparents
Day.
