There should be no lynching, either of cows or men: RSS’s Indresh Kumar

Patna,

Sept 8 (HS): Indresh Kumar, a senior RSS functionary, stated on Sunday that

there should be no man lynching or cow lynching in order to guarantee that

people of different religions lived in harmony.

Speaking to reporters here, the

national executive member also stated that the RSS supported the views voiced

by its chairman, Mohan Bhagwat, who advocated for a caste census. What Mohan has expressed is shared by 100% of RSS volunteers. We cannot

wish away caste. However, we must take care to avoid the poison of casteism

(jaativad ka dansh), stated Indresh.

He

went on to say, Likewise, we believe that there are and will be many

religions.

However, we must be vigilant against religious extremism and the violence that it

incites. People should follow their own paths while showing respect for others.

When asked about the many occurrences of lynching by cow vigilantes, which

opposition parties have blamed on the rise of the BJP, an RSS offshoot, he

stated that beef is consumed in many regions of the nation and throughout the

world. But we must acknowledge that people are sensitive to cows. As a result,

we should try to establish an atmosphere free of both cow and man lynchings. We

should appreciate unity within diversity. The RSS functionary, who is also a

patron of Pancham Dham, said the international cultural

organization's Bihar chapter staged a program on Ganesh Chaturthi, which

would end on Maha Shiv Ratri next year.

He

stated that the state-wide project aims to create a society devoid of riots and

caste-based prejudice, as well as one defined by compassion for the

underprivileged. The campaign was inaugurated at Singheswar Mahadev Sthan in

Madhepura district and would encompass 108 Lord Shiva temples. In the last

phase, a big fortnight-long event would be organized in Patna, beginning on

February 12 to coincide with Sant Ravidas' birth anniversary and ending on

February 26 to commemorate Maha Shivratri, according to the top RSS leader.
