Sept 7 (HS): Police have arrested the husband who killed his wife by mixing

poisonous substance in iron syrup in the Kunda area of ​​the district. He

wanted to get his wife out of the way for his girlfriend. Additional

Superintendent of Police West Sanjay Rai said that Praveen Pandey was arrested

near Phoolmati Temple. He is the father of two children. He used a unique trick

to murder his wife Sannu Devi. He made his wife drink iron syrup mixed with

poisonous substance, due to which she died. To hide the murder and deceive the

family, the accused gave the same medicine to his mother in small quantities,

so that it would seem that the medicine was safe. However, after treatment, his

mother's life was saved, but Sannu Devi died. After this incident, the

deceased's brother Neeraj Mishra had lodged a report against Praveen Pandey in

Hathigwan police station. The accused confessed to his crime; he was in love

with someone else and hence had to get rid of his wife. On the night of

September 1, he mixed poisonous substance in iron syrup and made her drink it,

due to which his wife died. Following his lead, the police recovered two vials

of pesticide used in the incident from near Navipur Bridge, Kaushambi.
