Kathmandu, 30 July (HS):- Nepal authorities initiated
stern action against the misuse of land which was given for construction of a
hospital, but used for Christian religious activities. Following complaints
from Dhangadi residents in Kailali district, the authorities demolished
the hall. At the same time the registration of the organisation which had
acquired the land on lease, was cancelled.
Dhangadi Municipal Council Mayor Gopal Hamal said the land was given to a Korean organisation ‘Let Me In’ to start a Skin
Hospital. The organisation runs Skin Hospitals elsewhere in Nepal. The
organisation, however, started religious programmes in the premises, without permission.
‘Let Me In’ was being conducted the parent Church organisation Nepal Life World
Mission’, also a Korean organisation. Registration of the parent organisation
was also cancelled.
Mayor Hamal also said that religious seminars on
Christianity and conversions of local people were being carried out in the
premises. The building was demolished after a detailed enquiry.
