Odisha Chief Minister Announces 10% Reservation for Agniveers

Bhubaneswar, 27 July (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a 10% reservation for Agniveers in his state. Majhi praised the Indian armed forces soldiers as pride and emphasized the importance of Agniveers trained by the defence forces for their potential service in security-related sectors.

He referred to the Agniveer Scheme as a historic initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has made the youth fearless and capable of facing life's challenges. The Odisha government will provide up to 10% reservation in its uniformed services for Agniveers not absorbed in the defence forces, with a 5-year age relaxation. The uniformed services include police, fire services, and forest departments.
