New Delhi, 26 July (HS): President Droupadi Murmu today remembered the valour and bravery of the Indian Army soldiers on the silver jubilee of Kargil Day. She wrote on the e-mail, Kargil Vijay Diwas is an occasion for the grateful nation to pay respect to the indomitable courage and extraordinary valour of our armed forces. I pay tribute to every soldier who made the supreme sacrifice while protecting Mother India on the peaks of Kargil in the year 1999 and bow in their sacred memory. I am sure that all the countrymen will get inspiration from their sacrifice and bravery. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!

It is noteworthy that the Indian Army defeated Pakistan in the Kargil War and won on July 26, 1999. This war was fought for about two months. Initially, it was considered an infiltration by Pakistan, but after a search operation in the Line of Control, Pakistan's planned strategy was revealed. The Indian Army realised that the attack was planned on a large scale.

After this, the Indian government launched 'Operation Vijay' and sent troops to the Kargil region. This war demonstrated the unwavering determination and indomitable spirit of the Indian armed forces. The Kargil War is a proof of Pakistan's wrong intentions. The then Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, taught Pakistan a lesson and made the whole world realise India's valour and strength. At the same time, the superpowers who sympathised with Pakistan were also given such a befitting reply in a blunt tone that they were left speechless. India also lost many of its brave warriors in this war, and their supreme sacrifice became an example for the country.
