Kathmandu, 23 July (HS): A case of changing the use of the land
acquired on lease for the construction of a hospital came to the fore. The land
owner Prabhakar Bhandari of Dhangadi in Kailali district gave a piece of land on
lease to construct a hospital. A hall, which is being used for Church
activities was constructed on the land. The administration initiated action
after a complaint was received regarding this.
According to the complaint lodged with Dhangad Municipality,
Nepal Life World Mission acquired the land for the development of a Skin Hospital.
Instead of a hospital a hall was constructed on the land. The World Mission is
a Korean organisation involved in religious conversions abroad.
The
lease deed mentions that seminars will also be held in the premises. The Church-related seminars were being held in the premises, including prayers and
propagation of the Christianity. Two Korean natives have been granted space to
live in the premises.
The local people have raised a voices against the activities.
They have appealed to Bhandari to take back the land saying that a Church in
the area is meaningless, as not one follows Christianity there.
Dhangadi Mayor Gopi Hamal has sought a reply from the Nepal
Life World Mission within 24 hours, following the complaint.
