Gurugram/Nuh, July 22 (HS): Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra at Nalhadeshwar temple in Nuh was completed peacefully. The pleasant thing about the Yatra was that Muslims showered flowers on the Yatra.
This religious unity and harmony which was seen in the Braj Mandal Yatra on Monday was marred by riots last yea. As a precaution, a large number of police force and other security forces were deployed in Nuh district.
The 80 km long Yatra was completed amid curfew-like conditions amid heavy security. The administration had fixed the time for completion of the Yatra as five hours. The Yatra was completed in just four hours. Gurugram, Nuh district administration breathed a sigh of relief.
Preparations were being made for several days for Jalabhishek in Pandava era Nalhadeshwar temple in Nuh district. It was a challenge for the Haryana government to conduct the Yatra peacefully. The Yatra started from Sector-10 of Gurugram city. Gangajal brought from Haridwar was to be offered in Nalhadeshwar temple. Devotees left with Gangajal in a pot-like vessel.
During this, slogans like Jai Shri Ram, Jai Shankar Ki, Bharat Mata Ki were raised. The Yatra was to reach the temple at 10 am, but the Yatra reached the temple three hours late.
Forgetting the bad times of the riots in the Yatra last year, this time on Monday, people of the Muslim community also showered flowers on the Yatra. Slogans of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood were also raised.
Sadhus, saints and devotees performed Jalabhishek in the Yatra with full rituals. Amid heavy police security, the convoy of saints and devotees reached Nalhadeshwar temple, Jhirkeshwar temple in Ferozepur Jhirka and Singar Shringeshwar Mahadev temple in Punhana. The yatra ended here.
To ensure that no miscreant propagates any kind of wrong information on social media during the yatra, internet services were shut down in the district a day earlier, from 6 pm on Sunday to 6 pm on Monday. Being a hilly area, the police kept a drone vigil on the Aravalli hills. 2000 police personnel were deployed in Nuh.
A day before this yatra, on Sunday, Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, chairman of the All India Imam Organization, also reached Nuh. He gave a message of peace to the Muslims of Mewat. He said that last time violence had put a stain on Muslims. This time it is a good time to wash away this stain by making this yatra a success. The Muslims of Mewat fully followed his call.
