Exams cancelled due to severe floods in the state

Guwahati, 02 July (HS). The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has announced the postponement of the State Open School (SOS) examination for Higher Secondary (HS) level through a notice. The exam was scheduled to be held from Wednesday, July 3. The decision has been taken due to severe floods in most districts of Assam. It is known that many rivers in the state are flowing above the danger mark.

The AHSEC has directed all the concerned institutions to inform their respective learners and tagged institutions about the suspension. The scheduled examinations will be rescheduled after the flood waters recede and the situation stabilizes.

The council stressed the importance of security and directed the officer in charge of each selected examination center to ensure that all confidential examination material is stored safely at local police stations and treasury offices. This includes blank answer sheets and additional materials. Instructions have been given to coordinate with police and treasury officials to ensure the safety of these materials until the examinations are rescheduled.

Further information regarding the new examination schedule will be given in due course when the situation improves. AHSEC urged all institutions and learners to stay alert to official announcements for further instructions.
